I pulled an "Edwin" today. What's an "Edwin" you ask? It's one where you lock your keys in your car while it's running. How did this term appear? A friend named Edwin did exactly that. Haha. And now I have done the same. How did I do it? Rushing to leave work, I ran to my car to fire her up and start brushing the snow off of her. Why was I in a hurry? I had class at 6pm. In my haste, I must have hit the door lock and voila, an "Edwin" by yours truly. I ended up calling my dad to come save me. Brush in hand, I saw that our new receptionist's car was on and running and started to brush the snow off her car. I didn't see her anywhere and thought maybe she had started it with a remote starter and was letting the car warm up before coming out. I walked around to her side to clean her car off and she opened her door. Awkward... But she wasn't. She started... thanking me? O_o Said she was being lazy and wanted to let her car warm up before getting out. Okay fair enough. So the two of us get the snow off her car and I'm telling her my car is running with the keys locked inside. She spazzes, in a good way and tells me to get in her car right away. OK! She knew I had class from 6 - 9 and was spazzing, again in a good caring way, about how I'd be late. I told her my dad was on his way to rescue me and that I'll try to go as soon as he reaches our location. And so this is where our hour long conversation begins. From her talking about her other job downtown, to just downtown, to places to eat downtown, and both of our histories working in restaurants, to sports (she likes all of them... what??), and so on and so forth. Good chat really. She's kind of ditzy but she's a really sweet girl. Eventually swapped numbers with her... At this point, my dad shows up and I have to exit her car. She tells me not to go to class because of the crazy snowstorm we're having but heck, I payed for the course so I'm going either way. Class started at 6. I finished work at 5. I left the parking lot at 6:20pm. I got to class at 7:15pm. Not bad time at all. I'll have to tell her tomorrow. Well, at least there's something to look forward to at work now. :]
